Exactly what the thread title says. I'm a pretty big fan of Anime and was wondering if there was anyone else like myself and also interested to know what people are into.
At the moment (meaning, when I have some free time, lol,) I'm heavily into Naruto Shippuuden, One Piece, Gundam SEED Destiny (although I really want to start watching 00, but I don't want to until I've finished Destiny, damn my brain, lol) and Bleach (although I'm so far behind on it, lol).
(No spoilers please, just in case.)

Yeah Akira is certainly my introduction to anime. I remember seeing an ad for it on the back of an ancient copy of 2000AD when I was about 7 or 8 years old and wondering what it was all about. Fast forward 8 years and I notice it on BBC2 at midnight or some other ungodly hour. Still got it on tape today, in rather shit condition.
I'm not a massive fan, but I've dabbled a bit. I enjoyed Hellsing and have watched the first half dozen or so episodes of Cowboy Bebop. I generally try and stick to the movies though, it requires a lot less effort to keep up. I've got a mate who keeps pushing Evangelion on me, managed to resist so far though.
I don't think the butchered live action version of Blood: TLV bodes well for the live adaptation of Akira. As for the Legend of Chun-Li, such things are best swept under the carpet and forgotten about.

Im only on series 4 of Naruto. I refuse to watch the cartoon network and jetix versions. They just aren't violent enough, so i buy the dvds. I never really got into Bleach, but im thinking of buying the first series on DVD. ...and yes, Blood; TlV WAS DIRE.

I watched a few of the TV versions of Naruto, and it was obvious when stuff was edited but luckilly they're relasing the uncut version as you said.
Managed to buy all of Code Geass season 1 on dvd yesterday. I've read great things about the series, so hopefully it can live up to the hype!
I've also now decuded to start catching up on Bleach in the form of the Manga. It's a lot easier to read the Manga than watching the over 130 episodes I'm behind on. I have up to vol 27 of the Manga so me thinks I'll be following the Manga online after that. With that in mind, anyone know any good online Manga sites?

Random update from me, have just finished Vol 21 of the Bleach manga... OMG that was a great read! In so many ways I wish I had time to watch the anime to appreciate it in a different way!

Recently finished reading the Akira manga for the first time. Man, it is epic! It was really cool comparing the similarities and differences between the manga and the movie; the way the manga expanded on the characters (particularly Lady Miyazaki, who's in the movie for about five seconds) and had a whole bunch of them that didn't appear in the movie was great. The pacing was relentless too, I've never really considered it possible for a comic to be all that fast paced, but the action was great.

I see a few I enjoy from time to time: Deathnote, Vampire Hunter D, Akira, DBZ...

Actually, did you enjoy the Death Note films. I just watched the last Death Note film, L: Change the World, which I thought was really good, as I did with the other films.

The live movies weren't bad, quite good actually. But the anime was better. I'd imagine the Manga is better than the anime...but I'm picky about comics.
