![[image]](http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d138/jeremy1985/dropkickLIVE13-Nov19thAJStyles-1.png)
This coming Thursday (19th November), The Dropkick Radio Wrestling Show brought to you by Jeremy Graves & Martyn Licchelli returns for it's thirteenth Live show, and as per usual, it's going to be packed to the rafters with what we all know and love, wrestling discussion~!
Coming Up On This Weeks Show
*Recaps of WWE Smackdown in the UK (featuring Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho) plus the 'Go Home And Buy The PPV' edition of TNA iMPACT! and, the Nov 16th edition of Monday Night Raw (featuring Roddy Piper as guest host) and the Nov 17th edition of ECW!
*I mentioned above that iMPACT! was a 'Go Home And Buy The PPV' edition of the show. We'll be reviewing the very PPV that show was leading towards, 'Turning Point' from the Impact Zone in Orlando! The question is, did Hulk Hogan have an Impact on that very PPV?
*Discussion on the latest news in the world of professional wrestling, including the fallout of TNA's Turning Point, and the possibility of a former WWE personality returning to the company!
*Plus, as if that wasn't enough, we'll be previewing WWE's Survivor Series PPV, the Chikara DVD Sampler competition returns and more!
It goes down this coming Thursday 19th November, 9pm GMT at www.DropkickRadio.com

Can't believe there is no DKR next week just because Jeremy is busy. I seriously doubt any professional shows would do that... Isn't there some other way of doing a show?

I'll address both of the questions asked above as best I can.

In short no. There is no way we can record another show to air/release on Thursday. I genuinely have almost no free time this week. I've got a very important show that I have a large role in being put on by my university, which amounts to virtually my entire mark for my third semester. (About 85% of my final mark for this semester is judged on my performance in this show.)
I've been called for rehearsals that are between 12-14 hours each over Monday and Tuesday, and then on Wednesday, it's our first show, but before we get to that, we're having up to 2 dress rehearsals to do. Then on Thursday, I've got a lecture in the morning, and then we're being called in during the afternoon to have another dress rehearsal and to work on any scenes that need working on which will then lead to our second performance that evening.
On Friday, I've got be at Uni from 9am for various classes and then another possible rehearsal which will then lead onto our third performance that evening. Then on Saturday, we have to perform our final 2 shows which leads us to getting out all the lights, scenery and whatnot over Saturday night and all day Sunday.
So, as you can tell, (as I said on the show this past Thursday,) I genuinely have little, or no free time to do the show whatsoever. (Any free time I do have will be resting and sleeping at the rate I'm going.) In terms of recording a podcast, we still need the time to actually record it, which there won't be time for.
Martyn and I really wanted to bring you a new show during this coming week, but it hasn't come to be for all the reasons stated above. I didn't think this would be a problem given that this will be the first week since DKR started in January of 2008 that we haven't been able bring you new content during a week. (Keep in mind, when we took a two week break in July, we were able to make time to record two extra shows to be released during that time, 'Monday Night Wars' & 'Casual Conversartions'.) Obviously I was wrong. I will say however, that it really means a lot to me you guys want a new show that badly this week, but I would have thought that a little compassion could have been granted on this occasion given the reason it's happening.
To answer the question of how we could another show, we did investigate the concept of Martyn being able to do the show himself amongst other ideas, but we decided it wouldn't be a viable option and that it would be far less stress to postpone the show on Thursday (26th November) for both myself (amongst the huge workload I have this week) and Martyn.
I hope this answers the questions above. I personally don't think I needed to justify myself as much as I have done above, but I have done so just to clear the air. Besides, nearly of all of the shows we've produced since March of 2008 can be found at DropkickRadio.com ,you could always listen to an older show on Thursday!

I don't think anyone was asking you to do two things at once, but I think most people were a bit mystified at a show with two hosts being cancelled because only one of them wasn't able to do it. That said, if this is how it will be then so be it, onwards to the next DKR. Good luck with your show.

Wow I cant believe you are moaning, since the show started has there ever been a week off? Also remember the guys only do it out of the love of it so I think they deserve a week off here and there.

We took a week off, because Jeremy was doing Uni work. I was left with 3 choices.
Have a week off, which i wanted because it gave us chance to work on some stuff we have planned without worrying about the show.
Do a solo show, which given the strain of the feed going through my computer, to a network, and then being streamed live hadn't been tested it may well have been a bad idea (definitely would have, since our computer died Tuesdday night anyway)
or 3, do a show with Nick Mills. (it'd be decent enough, but lets just say he's got issues right now... may make it awkward)
I think I took the right option. As Wigmonkey said above, we've not had a week off for ages, we've done multiple shows in a week, and "just because Jeremy is busy" pisses me off a little. Jeremy SAID he was busy. I didn't. Doesn't mean I'm not though. I've spent this week fixing mutiple computers, going to ante natal appointments, mid wife appointments, going for job interviews, sorting out a court case and looking after my sick wife.
Throughout last week it was still up in the air as to whether it would be a one week break or two weeks because of Jeremys schedule and my personal life commitments (newsflash: Married man taking over living room for 4 hours to do a show his wife cant listen to properly, doesn't exactly make things easy)
The shows not just "Oh it's thursday, it's 8pm, lets do this. Quick write a show plan. Done". Throughotu the week there's constant phone calls. We're constantly in touch with wrestlers, promoters, and agents to try and arrange guests. We currently have something HUGE in the works for next year, but cant say anything cause i'll curse it, but even now it's taking time off my hands and it's not yet set in stone.
We may well have been able to do a podcast type show. But working with what i was going last week, along with Jeremys schedule. Would have meant a 1am-4am recording time, which would have been havoc for both as we'd need early mornings.
Yet still, this past week, despite both being busy. We've set up a Rick Martel interview, got other stuff sorted for our anniversary show, got 3 possibly 4 big names confirmed for February through April next year. Started new stuff up to increase listenership. Got new sponsor deals sorted for extra prizes. Made a new contact. Come up with some great ideas regarding the end of the year awards with could be exciting if we can pull it off and sorted out some things we personally had issue with regarding the show.
Like: Phoning in, that changes this week. To mix it up, and stop any monotony, we're going to change it a little. Jeremy has this desire to always accept a phone call from regular listeners and callers. From this week it's strictly limited and will primarily be subject based, with some open discussion too because the show was only meant to run til 11, and we freqeuntly run til 11:45 now. We dont mind going til 11:30, really, but we never finish then and thats already our 30 minute over run. We're hoping the new way will freshen stuff up.
That's not to say we dont appreciate people calling in and will shun everyone, not at all. But yeah, having (random example) Spanner call in one week, getting thoughts and a quick catchup... and then the next week getting the same thing... and the next getting the same thing. Doesn't add much to the show. With a gap between a persons calls, they'll have more to say and it will be 'fresher'. Like wigmonkey, who called in for the first time, and immediately (i.m.o.) picked up conversation a bit cause he was talking about different stuff.I want more of that. If it dont work, we go back to normal.
It's just something we want to change, that will hopefully improve the flow of the show for us, and make the end of the shows more enjoyable and more of a conversation/discussion than just a section for friends catching up. We have had a couple of criticisms for this, for the same guys being on. So we'e hoping to try and space it out. We have about 60-80 people who listen live (less than 1/5 of the total listeners right now) and only 20 come to chat, and fewer are willing to call. So it is hard to get variety. We're hoping our tiny change will go some way to bringing it.
so yeah, there's my very late reply to all this. Sorry if it anything seems angry, but to be honest reading 'Jeremy is busy. Dont see why it cant be done anyway' and'professional shows wouldnt do that' just made me feel I should justify the reasons, since only half the story of the one week break is known.

*Pats Martyn on the back*
It's okay little buddy, there there. We're here for ya...even if some of us are in the U.S...
Hope Angie's doing well, haven't heard from her in a while. In fact, ever since taking over my store as the Assistant Manager, I haven't had much time for much else other than checking Facebook and emails time to time.
I really do miss listening to the show, but can never catch you guys live. I suppose I could settle and just listen to the archives...but I feel I'm missing out.
God I miss you guys (and gal).
...sad face...
...tear...
